In all the Sales Profitability Reports there are two flags to choose: Released Transactions Only and Completed Transactions Only.

Released Transactions Only is easy to understand as it will display only released invoices or all invoices regardless they are released.

My question is about Completed Transactions Only. What does actually mean completed transactions? I thought it was closed invoices but, based on the testing I did, it does not seem it is that.

Hello there!

Completed Transactions Only should pull only Closed/Completed documents having Posted GL transactions.

Canceled or corrected invoices are excluded.

I’m also interested in this. My original assumption was in line with what @Irina had commented in that Completed Transactions Only had to do with the Status of an Invoice.

But I’m looking at the report definition for Sales Profitability by Customer and Order (AR672000) and that doesn’t appear to be the case. Here is a screenshot of the Filters tab, with the two lines that utilize the Completed Transactions Only parameter highlighted in red:

As you can see, the Completed Transactions Only parameter determines whether or not ARTran.IsTranCostFinal is set to True. It’s not related to the Status of an Invoice.

But I have no idea what ARTran.IsTranCostFinal is. Maybe it’s related to Landed Cost? Does anyone know?

@TimRodman - did you get an answer to your question or figure out the workflow around IsTranCostFinal?

I haven’t followed up on it to test transactions through and figure it out. I still suspect that it has something to do with Landed Cost.

I have a few questions about this IsTranCostFinal field. Maybe someone from Acumatica can chime in?

  • Why do some lines on an invoice have this field set to False while others are set to True? It appears to mostly be lines that don’t have an Inventory ID (like Freight and Discounts). I see transactions going back years that still have this field set to False, yet the invoices are totally closed out.
  • Is there supposed to be a process to “finalize” these lines and lock in their cost?
  • Similarly, if we want to correct the cost for a Freight line that has this field set to false (but the Invoice is closed), is there a way to do that?
