We are currently going through sandbox setup and scenarios for the Field Service Module and have run into a snag with second appointments on a service order and figured someone out there may have a solution!

Marking an item for PO works exactly how we want it to, with the only caveat being if we have multiple POs to the same vendor the system likes to create a PO for each branch-location instead of grouping them all to one vendor.

However, we have multiple warehouses so we don’t always need to mark items for a PO, our tech’s can get the part from the main warehouse transferred to their truck warehouse to finish the job on the second call.

So, we need a way to trigger the “Needs Appointment” flag on the Service Order for the field techs, and a way to create the demand for the item(s) required for the second trip.

Have any of you found solutions for this problem?

Hi @rmillerKimball

One way to accomplish this would be for the technician to add the line on the first appointment with status Not Performed. The line will not be billed on the first appointment and instead, the line on the service order will be set with Requiring Scheduling status and on the header, with Appointments Needed true. The follow-up appointment will include the item.

Thank you @Anacarina Calvo! My colleague found that just after I submitted this question. That should work great.

Do you have any insight on the multiple POs created to same vendor if they’re marked by different staff members (which each have their own warehouse)?
