Merging Customers

We have two different customer numbers set up for the same job location.  (One under the old owner name and one under the new owner name)  Both have have history so we cannot make one inactive or delete it.  Is there a way to merge the two customers together?

Hello @MFarnsworth10 ,

Current versions of Acumatica have no “merge customers” feature.  You mention the customers have history.  Does either customer have a current balance of $0?  If one customer has a $0 balance and no open documents, that customer can be inactivated and their history will remain in the database. Inactivating a customer prohibits new transactions from being posted to that customer.

Thank you.  I will probably do that so no more work can be done under the inactive customer, however that does not help us when we are looking to see the appointment history for this jobsite, because we have to look under both customers.

Agree we have seen the need for this same feature.  In a Trade working on a construction site building lot with the services going to the builder as the customer and then later when the finished home is sold to the homeowner and that same trade is now performing service or warranty work for the homeowner.  The need to track the Lot/Address and the history associated with it becomes important, the owner (Customer) can change over time.

Merging customers needs to be added to Acumatica.
