Training Description: This webinar provides a set of lessons that illustrate the processes of construction project management in a midsize company.

Training Syllabus: The program is covered over two days as follows:

  • Day 1: Project Commitments. This session will provide you the skills to develop a project structure, create and configure a project, plan its budget, manage its lifecycle, and prepare the system for account group creation. You will also learn to create an account group, map accounts to it, and review the chart of accounts to identify the account group for a specific GL account. Moreover, you will learn to create a subcontract, add project-related lines to it, enter the accounts payable bill for the subcontract, review the generated GL and project transactions, and understand how the subcontract impacts the project budget. Including, how to correct bills prepared for subcontractors.
  • Day 2: Project Commitments, Project Billing and Retainage. In the second session, you will learn how to create a change order class for tracking commitments. You will also learn to use change orders to update cost commitments, review changes to the project budget, modify closed commitments, and configure sales taxes. Additionally, you will learn how to create an AP bill with applied sales tax, release an AP bill, and review the batch of GLs generated by the system. Moreover, you will create a project inventory, review GL batches, project transactions, and GL transactions generated by the sales and purchases of items.

Date and time: This training meets the following two times, and attendees are expected to attend both the sessions:

  • Tue, August 06, 2024 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT
  • Wed, August 07, 2024 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT

*To provide a cloud instance for attendees, we need to generate a registration report and perform some activities to deploy the instance and send out the credentials. All this takes time and we have to do it several hours before the webinar. So we highly recommend not leaving the registration up to the last minute of the webinar start. Everyone who registers after 6 AM PT of Day 1 session will not receive the link to the cloud instance and credentials for it and will have to attend a webinar in a view-only format.

Partner Certification: This webinar is based on the materials of the V300 Project Accounting for Construction 2024 R1 course, which is part of the Construction Business Consultant badge. Completion of this class does not give you an automatic completion of the related course at Partner University; you will still need to complete the exam at Partner University.
