"The values in the GS1 Barcode are not valid for the current step"

I am getting a "The values in the GS1 Barcode are not valid for the current step" error when using the Receive and Put away Screen to received goods with a GS1 Data Matrix from a PO. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Does the problem exist with every GS1 barcode or only with specific vendors?
