Question

SO Line Item detect a Blanket Order

Is there a way to detect a current open blanket order for the customer for the line item being keyed?  Example, there is blanket sales order for ABC Company for Item#AS625 Qty 100.  Customer calls to order 25 but does not reference the blanket order. We enter a new sales order and key item#AS625 for a qty 25, is there a way for Acumatica to alert the processor that there is an existing blanket order.

Hi @chrissic

You need to follow the process of Blanket Sales Order Functionality.
Please refer to the Youtube link below that may be useful to you.

Thank you @nhatnghetinh for the information and video. The OOB functionality works great when the customer tells us the dates ahead of time and we can create the child orders right away or the customer references the blanket order when placing an order. Our situation is that we have a blanket order for a customer that they committed to purchasing the total qty in the next year, but they do not know the dates they will be ordering or needing the product. So when they place an order, the purchasing agent from the customer does not reference the blanket order. Currently we have a pop up note on the customer reminding us there is a blanket order, but that is a manual work around. We are looking for the system to alert us to check the blanket orders if we key an item on a SO.

Hi @chrissic

You can try applying the Discounts feature to implement the blanket orders alert. Please see how to do it in the screenshots below.
