Create Child Order action error: The customer order number cannot be empty.

Forum|alt.badge.img

Using Build 23.108.

The SO Sales Order Type is set up to Require Customer Order Nbr. with Allow Duplicates Validation.

When we attempt to Create a Child Order from a Blanket Order, we get error “The customer order number cannot be empty.”.

We were expecting Acumatica to copy the Blanket Order Customer Order Nbr to the Child Order, but this is not the case, so the child order creation step fails.

We are forced to create the SO first, type the Customer Order Nbr.,  and then use action ADD BLANKET SO LINE, which is not an ideal workflow.

Any ideas to improve this workflow?

Thanks

The code copies the PO# From the BlanketSOLineSplit. You would need to set it on the items for it.

Now, you could mod to default this field from the main PO# on the header, and update each of the BlanketSOLineSplits when the header was updated.

Bit of a limitation i would agree your only choice would be to do a customisation to have the order nbr copied accross. Other choice would be to set up a new Child Order Type that does not require customer order number and use that but that could be messy and prone to error and also the order number would not be on the sales order/invoice etc.

@Keith Richardson : It worked exactly as you described it. We could mod to auto copy from header but for now this will definitively work. Thanks for explaining this data workflow. Best regards.
