Acumatica WMS - Warehouse should be a default option for users

Forum|alt.badge.img+5

There needs to be a default warehouse that should be set by the user (or the device). While it is possible to have “warehouses inside warehouses”, in many use cases a worker will always be in the same warehouse. So the mobile app should assume that the user’s warehouse is that default warehouse, with the option to override (i.e. item lookup screen….it shoud default to the worker’s warehouse so this doesn’t have to be entered repeatedly.

Hello @rosenjon,

The user can set his default warehouse in User Profile.  This screenshot is from a PC but I expect the default would carry on when the user logs in on other devices:

Thank you @laura01! That is perfect and solved the issue. The barcode scanner now defaults that warehouse correctly.

Has this functioonality been removed?  I do not see it in the User Profile anymore.  Where would this be in 2023 R1?

This functionality is only available for WMS?

This needs to apply to the sales order screen via the desktop. It is redundant.

To set default user warehouse:

User clicks on name in right corner, selects User profile Screen.

Choose default warehouse as shown:

I apologize I was not detailed enough. When creating a Sales Order, the default branch loads, however the default warehouse does not. Thus leaving the user to type in the warehouse id again which is redundant. Is there a solution to auto fill this?

Has anyone found a solution to this. I have a customer with multiple companies but the products cross-over so the warehouse cannot be defaulted to the product.

@KeithEvans25 Found a solution to fix this. Go to Customers > Select your customer profile. > From there go to the shipping tab, and under shipping you will want to map the appropriate warehouse assigned to the customer. Once you do this, the warehouse will load by default. You can also create a data provider and import scenario to accomplish this on a mass scale.

lepply - while that does work, it should be inherent to every screen in acumatica.  Most users only have one branch/warehouse that they work in.  It is so incredibly frustrating that this simple task requires customization.  We can’t keep financials straight or inventory because it is dependent on the user to make sure they pick the warehouse.

How frickin simple should it be to if you only have a one to one WH to branch setup that the system just applies the WH that you are logged into or have set on your personal settings.

Incredibly flawed design.

The customer solution only works if you have no cross over of customers. I’m working with two customers, both with multiple companies where both customers and inventory cross over so you cannot apply defaults. Frustrating there is a field for warehouse against the user but does not apply it to when a sales order is processed.

Acumatica is a good solution, but these basic settings and especially the WMS need to be overhauled completely.

It’s a good solution for VAR’s and Programmers to fill their pocket books.  Out of the box it leaves a lot to be desired.

As far as I can tell the default warehouse selected by a user only applies to the WMS, right? Now leppleys solution works for SOs, but has anyone a solution for POs? If that user orders something, he might order it from the same supplier as other parts of the company, but he still wants it to land at his warehouse.

Any ideas to make that work?
