Question

Trying to add reasons to the drop down list in the customer portal

We are an MSP and one of our clients has a technician onsite that works cases from the customer portal. We need them to be able to edit the reason listed in the case to some of the custom options we have created. I was able to add these to the combo box values in the field section of the customization but they do not appear in the drop down only the combo values that exist in the base version of portal. If we change the reason in the main tenant it does change on the customer portal side but gives an exclamation stating that it is not set for this workflow. Unfortunately there is no workflow option with the customizations for the customer portal. Now they are set to be available in the workflow as it is set in the main tenant.

Reason had its name changed to status

I wasn’t able to take a screenshot of all the custom combo values so I only included a sample of a few.

Hi @cbulford61

You need to add the reason code for Case entry screen first. CR306000

Ensure, it reflects on ERP instance UI first. Are you not seeing workflow on CRM Case entry screen on Customization project editor?

Hi @vkumar

I have already added the reason codes to CR306000 in the main tenant and that customization is also published to the customer portal. the workflows option does not appear when working from the customer portal.

Did you add the combo box values to both your main instance on the fields tab of the Cases screen as well as adding them to the fields tab combo box values of the Case Details screen in the portal customization? And do both of the combo box values you added in production/portal match exactly?

Yes, I added them to both exactly the same, making sure all values had the same name. The correct values do show on the portal side if they are changed on the production side, it is just that the portal side will only show the default values in the drop down any new values will not populate in the drop down.
