Enable changing of business account on Opportunity

Once an opportunity is created, the corresponding business account is no longer editable.

I would like to customize this to allow that to be changed in certain circumstances.

1. can I do this by just overriding the field with an allowupdate=true or something similar?
2. will this break anything? And as a general question, is there a good way to determine if a change like that will cause problems? I understand sometimes Acumatica does this sort of thing as a dependency, and other times they’re just enforcing a workflow preferenc
