We have a scenario where the same person works for 2 separate companies. Hence, we have 2 contacts. The system flags this as a possible duplicate as it should.

We click on the Mark for Validation action on the Contact Record but the warning symbol just appears next to the Possible Duplicates field.

Can anyone provide insight into why this fails to marked Validated?

Hi @Troy Vars

Could you please share screenshot,

Duplicate validation message throws based on the preference we set

Let me explain

We have 2 contacts with same name .

Contact A

Contact B

When the user click on check for duplicates the system throiw the warning message as you mentioned as expected.

Now either the user has to close the duplicate and mark as validated to proceed further.

If you are not closing the warning message shows the same.

Note: Yellow color message is a not a warning just indication.

To be clear we Click Mark as Validated and the record doesn’t change.

If there is not associated Business Account then the record updated to Validated, but these don’t

I thought maybe the Duplicate Customer/Business Accounts had to be marked valid first, but that didn’t resolve the issue

When User attempt the check for validation the first lead.case will mark as validated, the second one will become possible duplicate

After close as duplicate

Warning message never move from the screen

Another example where 2 people with the name Smith

Can not mark either valid

Seems to be there might be another record with similar data? Have you verified?

Hi @Troy Vars were you able to find a solution? Thank you!

No we did not find a solution. We are ignoring these for now.

Has anyone else seen this issue and figured out how to resolve? We are running into the same issue where clicking mark as validated > save does not save the validation. The account listed on the duplicates tab is not a duplicate, so we are trying to mark this account as validated, but it won’t save the validated status.

  Hi @Troy Vars ,

Try clearing “Validate on Entry” checkbox in Duplicate validation form  and Mark as Validate in the duplicate contact.

For your information:
If you have set the value "Warn" against any “Matching field” (Example : Email) row in the "Create on Entry column" - it does not allow you to clear the Validate on Entry box and warns about email duplicates. -

In that case, try changing Create on Entry to "Allow ">> It will allow the "Validate on Entry" checkbox to edit » Clear the checkbox >> Save

It will let “Mark as Validate” the record and save with Validated status

Update from Acumatica Support on this issue below. The suggested workaround of clearing the validate on entry steps is per record with this issue.

Hello Haylee,

This seems to be a known issue that has not yet been addressed.

Basic logic which is embedded into the deduplication workflow does not provide an option to mark specific duplicate records as not a duplicate. If we apply this change, it will affect performance because of too many relation sets between records.

I am escalating this to l3 and connecting it to an existing change request to introduce this functionality. Hopefully this will get some movement on this issue, but I wouldn't expect an imminent fix.
