Disappearing Project x on PO data entry

Hi, a client is running 23.210.0017 and is having a strange behavior in PO entry: The default project (X) disappears from the field when a GL account associated with an Account Group is entered in the Account field. In production, when the project is put in again, the subaccount field empties and has to be reentered to get all three to be complete. If a valid project is entered, no issue. If a GL account unassociated with an account group is entered, no issue.

I ran it in a local instance with no customizations published and the only change was the subaccount didn’t disappear.

We tested it in an more recent instance with sales demo data and it didn’t occur. I don’t know if it’s a config issue, or a glitch?

​@tonym68  This was the behavior in 23R1 and 23R2, seems logical.  Removing X prompts the person entering the PO to enter a project.  However, the development teams did make some changes with account groups and in 24R1 and 24R2 the x no longer disappears.

    Also, to close the loop, Acumatica confirmed the behavior is known and doesn’t appear in 24R1/R2.

    Please refer below test results to confirm the above statement by Heidi where 2023 R1 and R2, If the specific account has an account group 

    Once account with account group is entered, project X get disappeared.  

    Note that the logic is changed in 2024 R1, 2024 R2, project X does not disappear even though account with account group is entered in the line-item level. 

    Therefore based on above test results, if user required to prevent the X project getting disappeared , user could simply move forward for 2024 R1 , 2024 R2 where development team did make some changes with account groups which results the project X no longer disappear.
