My need: I have setup a scenario to test posting of transactions. Once they are posted, it cannot be undone. So, in order to test multiple times, I have been using a snapshot. However, restoring a snapshot is pretty tedious and time consuming. I have SQL installed locally. Doing a backup via SQL takes mere seconds. Restoring a db via SQL takes seconds. In the past, I tried restoring a sql db and it corrupted my instance of Acumatica so badly, I had to delete everything and install from scratch. I think it might have been because I was logged into the instance when I did the restore, but I don’t know what happened. Before I kill my environment, I want to know if any of you use SQL backup/restore to perform repetitive testing. This is what I think *should* work.Prepare my transactions for posting log out do a FULL sql backup login post and look at the results. logout restore the db start over at step 4.Any thoughts on this?
I just added a few fields to a custom page. The database is correctly updated. The project compiles and publishes, and WORKS fine. I verified the ASPX datamembers exist in the graph. Data is being saved to the fields. When I try to edit the screen in the Project Editor, when I click the screen number I get the error shown below. The fact that the page works and data is saved seems to me like the page is fine. This is the kind of error that could waste hours trying to resolve. I think it is something buggy in the project editor.I looked at the aspx page. It looks fine too. Before I start mucking up my project by removing the screen and re-adding it etc., does anyone know a way to fix this? This has happened to me in the past and I ended up starting with a brand new project and recreating the screen from scratch. I’d rather not do that. Thanks,Joe
I am posting this in case anyone ever has the same issue, they will know how to fix it.I have a customized version of AP301000 in R2020R2 Build 20.207.0012. The page publishes and works fine.In the project editor, on my custom field, I entered a LabelWidth with a value of “M”. This caused the page to error. I unticked the checkbox on the LabelWidth propery. The value [RESET] was automatically filled into the value field. I saved the change and tried to preview and I got this error Steps to try to get rid of the error:unpublished all deleted the screen from the customization published the project restarted the application cleared cookies from the browser added the screen back into the project with no changes. clicked preview changes and I still get the error.I tried this in a different browser, same thing occurs.I also verified that after deleting and unpublishing, in the project editor, there was NO reference to AP301000 anywhere. I checked this by going to File - Edit Project XM
In 2021R1, I added a button to the Details grid in Bills and Adjustments. Everything is working great. I just cannot get the button to be greyed out when the other buttons are greyed out.I can disable it so it will display a dialog that it is disabled if someone clicks it, but it just looks bad that it appears to be available. This code fires and enables/disables the button correctly, but I cannot change the visibility of it.I suspect this might be something to do with a workflow on this screen? However, in my installation of 2021R1, the workflow for this screen is not editable. You can’t even create a new workflow. I don’t even know if that would solve this for me, but either way, I’d like to grey out that button when it is not applicable. Thanks!Joe
Before anyone panics, I am not planning on deleting ANYTHING from a core Acumatica table! :-)I’ve read this post but it involved deleting in a “one-time” fashion using export scenarios. I don’t think that is an option for my use case.My requirement to to create a SQL View that can pull data using a GI. Got that under control. The issue for me is that it is not possible (AFAIK) to create a View in SQL to pull the data and de-normalize it without using a loop in SQL, which is not allowed in a SQL View.My plan is to create a custom screen that can use C# in an Acumatica customization to process the data and store it in a custom SQL table. When a user uses the custom screen to pull data into the table, I want to delete EVERYTHING from that table that was put in there previously by that user. Otherwise this table will grow very large for no useful purpose.I know I can pull a record set and cycle through it and delete rows one at a time. Is there an option in Acumatica I have not found
When a user saves a Purchase Order, the LastPrice in the POVendorInventory table is updated. If there are multiple lines in the PO for the same item, they may have different Unit Costs for the same inventory item. When the table is updated, the last record in the grid is what ends up in the field. If there are multiple lines with the same inventory ID, my customer wants to update the LastPrice field with the LOWEST unit cost, not the last one to be processed. To complicate this, they want to change the LastPrice field to the lowest Unit Cost if it is overridden in the Purchase Receipts screen. Based on my testing, if you edit the Unit Cost on the Purchase Receipts screen, I don’t see that it updates the POVendorInventory table. They want it to update the table if the Unit Cost is overridden. Honestly, it seems like that should be standard business logic. On the Purchase Receipts screen, you are entering the ACTUAL cost of the item.Since the customer wants to update the LastPrice fi
I created an Export Scenario and when I view the Screen from the Export Scenario screen it shows me exactly what I am expecting. (Thanks Naveen)However, when I try to Process Export Scenario, I get an error. The data gets “prepared” and this is exactly what I am wanting to export:In case it helps, here is the definition of the data provider and Export ScenarioPARAMETERSSCHEMA EXPORT SCENARIOThe source of the data is from a Generic Inquiry. For CSV provider, you have to link a file and that file name is used to create the export file. I don’t see that file link option in the Generic Inquiry Provider type, so maybe it just doesn’t know what file to export to?Any ideas what that error is caused by?Thanks,Joe Schmucker
