Is there a way to limit a third-party report disigner’s rights / access?  We hire hire third-party report dedigners.  We do not want these third-parties to have admin-type rights, but enough rights to access but not change data.

I would have said that it is the Report Designer role you need to assign to them. If you give them that then that gves the ability to use the Edit Report. You will still need to give them roles that can access the date but it does not need to be admin

@dougmcbride79 As @dcomerford mentioned, the Report Designer role controls the ability to log into the site via Report Designer.

Anyone can open a report and add elements to it for their own local work, but in order to be able to save the report to a site, the Report Designer role is necessary, though they can work out of .rpx files and then send then through email if needed (though that seems extreme).

Otherwise, you can make sure that this role is limited in what they can see in the site or add an additional role which will help control what they see (or Restriction Groups).
