Import Scenario to Remove Old Supervisor & add new Supervisor to Delegate list on Employee record

Hi All,

Currently, I am facing an issue where the Import Scenario only deletes one record at a time, so I have tried adding multiple lines using '= -2' to delete multiple records. However, I don't believe this is the proper way to delete mass records.

After deleting the old delegates, I need to update the list with new delegates for the same employees using a single import scenario.

Is it possible to handle both delete and update delegates in single import scenario. I am working on 21 R1.

I have already added the import scenarios, and I would appreciate it if someone could review them and help me achieve the desired results.

Thanks, in advance!

Hi @manikantad18

Thank you for your quick reply.

I have tried the solution you provided with the two sample delegate columns.

Actually, I would like to know if we can handle it using only a single column, as shown in my sheet:

Employee ID Delegate ID
EP00000002 EP00000001
EP00000003 EP00000002
EP00000004 EP00000003
EP00000005 EP00000004
EP00000006 EP00000005
EP00000006 EP00000007
EP00000006 EP00000008
EP00000006 EP00000009
EP00000006 EP00000010
EP00000007 EP00000011
EP00000008 EP00000012
EP00000009 EP00000013
EP00000010 EP00000014
EP00000011 EP00000015

Have you noticed that I defined EP00000006 multiple times, indicating that EP00000006 has 5 delegates. However, the previous solution I used  and your current solution simply update it with the last delegate, which is not what I want.

Is it possible to handle this situation? Or do I have to define a new column for each delegate?

Looking forward to your guidance on this matter.

Thank you.

@manikantad18

I am using the attached scenario, but I'm not sure why it is not working.

Basically, I am using a Generic Inquiry as a data source where I am using SupervisorID as the Delegate ID, and after that, I have 4 hardcoded Delegates in the Import scenario. This means each employee has a total of 5 delegates.

I haven't tried using the Generic Inquiry yet, as I am not getting proper results from the Excel sheet.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work properly?

Thank you in Advance!!!

Hi @sweta68 were you able to find a solution? Thank you!

Hi @Chris Hackett ,

Yes, we have created two import scenarios to achieve the desired results.

As we have to update only top delegate from all available delegate to the employees.

So, we have only selected the top delegate each time and have link Import scenario with GI once the GI get updated it will automatically Update the delegate value on the screen as well.

Regards,

Sweta
