Mass change Business Account attribute

Hi all, we have a Business Account attribute CSREP (combo dropdown for customer service representative). We have former employees assigned to hundreds of business accounts that would have to be changed by hand, manually. Is there an easy way to do a mass change of CSREP from say “John Doe” to “Susan Smith”? Thank you!

You could do an import scenario to change just that attribute, put in the new correct owner:

Ahhh, didn’t know that was possible… so do an export of John Doe’s business accounts, and then re-import assigning to new CSREP?

Yes, that is what I would do. You can import to any field on the screen, even user defined fields.

One last question Kandy, can these import scenarios be processed with active users online? Or are import scenarios after hours only?

They can be processed at any time. The only thing I would be cautious about is how many records you have to change and how long the process may take. If you have a lot of records, I would suggest running it after hours when no one is online. However, if it’s just a few hundred, it won’t hurt to run at any time.
