Hello,

We are a construction company and are new Acumatica customers. Does anyone know if Acumatica has a way to track lost hours/productivity for Construction Projects?

Hello @MBillRJT050619 ,

What do you mean by “Lost hours”?

Acumatica will track budgeted hours on a project. Acumatica will track hours spent on a project (coming in via Timesheets usually) and will show you over/under budgeted hours.  Timesheet hours to a project can be marked Billable or Not Billable. Both billable and not-billable hours entered on a timesheet are recorded/tracked in Acumatica.

How do you identify “Lost” hours?  Is any of the above considered to be lost hours (such as the not-billable hours)? Thank you.

@laura01,

Lost hours would be extra time spent on a project due to circumstances outside of our company’s control and/or time not able to work on project due to weather or other delays. Our field personnel complete Daily Field Reports in Acumatica with time spent for payroll. We would also want to include notes regarding why there was lost time for that day.

This information is mainly used if a General Contractor comes back at us stating our company is the cause for a project taking too long. We want to pull this data and show them it is not our fault.

@MBillRJT050619  You could record hours with $0 and then those could be tracked. Or, in Daily Field Reports you could track these on the Notes section and the description “lost hours 8 due to weather” and a GI could help you report on these.  Hope this helps

If you want to track lost hours on specific projects, without changing any existing configurations, then I would suggest adding a task named “Lost Time” or similar for resources to book time against. You can enter notes against each timesheet line entry to explain the hours.
