Hi!

We are running Acumatica 2021 R2, Build 21.212.0039.

After clicking through the following, we are getting the error.

  1. Open Project
  2. Switch to Activities tab
  3. Select Create Activity
  4. Select Create Note

Error: An error occurred during processing of the field Project value PUBMID-000066 Error: Project 'PUBMID000066' cannot be found in the system. Please verify whether you have proper access rights to this object.

Per Site Map, looks like these screens are in CRM module so hoping that is not required since we are able to use some Activities from Invoices.

Hi @dmzasdf ,

One item to check is employee restriction on the project.  It sounds like you are not getting to the Activity Entry Screen, not getting the error when trying to save the activity.  Check this;

If the Restrict Employees check box is selected for the project on the Summary tab of this form, only the employees listed on the Employees tab of this form can add activities to the project. Activities cannot be added to the project if it has the Completed or Canceled status. If activities have been added to the project and it has the In Planning status, any related transactions cannot be released until the project status is set to Active.


@dmzasdf might be silly but its something that i tend to forget to check but are the project tasks and project active? also, depending on the roles, does the project accounting have access to create activities? i would check the access rights by screen to see if it’s a security issue (you can click access rights from the tools button on the top right and then scroll down until you find projects → activities)

After review:

  1. We do not use employee restriction on projects.
  2. The project/tasks in question are active.
  3. Project Accounting has access to create activities.

However:

  1. We duplicated the Project Accounting role with the same Active Directory group attached to the SIQ PA copy; we did this to avoid issue with upgrades overwriting our settings.
  2. Access right is Delete for both roles on
    1. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00)
    2. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00) > Project
  3. Access right is Inherited for both roles on
    1. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00) > Project > Add Activity
    2. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00) > Project > Add Email
    3. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00) > Project > Add Event
    4. Construction > Projects (PM.30.10.00) > Project > Add Task

Do the security setting look correct?

@dmzasdf that seems correct to me. i would submit a ticket to acumatica, they can log in to your system and poke around to see what the issue is/was!


We had the same issue.

Ticked in visibility for Time Entries on the project and the default task and resolved the issue  for us.

Clicking on Time Entries opens a bunch of stuff we don’t want, so maybe that needs to be an enhancement request
