Project transactions suddenly failing to closed tasks

Just experienced that we are no longer able to run our over/under project transactions against closed tasks. All business units are needing to re-open tasks to get through the August close whereas this has not been required in the past and we cannot see where this is controlled or determine causality. We are helping where asked to mass activate tasks, but that’s not a long term solution.

We are self-hosted on 2021R2 with no recent software updates and no known related configuration changes.

Any ideas including whether you are able to project transaction against closed tasks would be great!

@dmzasdf  Thank you for your question.  You can lock the Period in the Master Calendar and then even the financial supervisor will not be able to post to those periods.  Check out this post as well:

Found access to post to completed transactions is in Financial Supervisor user role, but that also grants access to post to closed periods which needs to stay more limited. How do we grant another user role access to post to completed transactions?

Hi @dmzasdf - were you able to find a solution? Thank you!

@Chris Hackett there was no response to my post, so we are left to assume there is no way aside from the Acumatica built-in role of Financial Supervisor to post to completed transactions.
