Disable Use of Control Points on Production Order

We have very agile production orders means they change a lot.  We don’t really use control points but they are headaches waiting to happen since we are constantly changing the WOs and things are completed out of order or completed but improperly.  Is there a way to turn off control points as a whole?  Can I just not have them ever set unless a user wants to click the box.  Also there is no going back once its clicked :-).

Last operation in the Production order gets set as Control Point by default, it simply means that to complete production order last operation is required to be reported.

When control point is turned off in the BOM for operations, Production order created by BOM will mirror the same except for the last operation in the production order. Additionally clear the control point checkbox for all the work centers as well. So that control point doesn't default as selected in the BOM.

@smeakim - This is defaulting from the Bill of Material. If you turn them off at the BOM - it won't default to the Production order.

Below is a BOM no control points set, followed by production order with at  the last step as a control point.  there were others also on this one which were removed programmatically.  Im not sure the BOM is controlling them

Production Order for Item showing the last step as a control point

The last operation is ALWAYS a control point by default - (because you MUST report the last operation to put it into inventory)

So what scenario other than being the last step will disallow the removal of the control point while the WO is on hold.  We seem to get steps where there is a control point and it cant be removed and then for some reason cant close the WO

@smeakim -  you should be able to remove the control point if the Production order is on hold. (except the last operation) If you have a specific example - you should open a support case. I have not heard of this issue.

@smeakim To avoid appearing control point in new BOMs you should deactivate the flag “control point” at the work center as well.
