Hello community,
I would like to know if we can have sub-licensing in Acumatica. We have a prospect where they record the transactions from different companies (probably their own clients) and they are looking if Acumatica allows sub-licensing, as they would also like to get the system implemented for those clients, under the same instance but as a different tenant. Came to know that we might not have the sub-licensing feature. I was wondering about the customer portal for all the clients. I would like to have your thoughts/suggestions on this, as to how can we implement this.

Thanks in advance.

HI @Harshita

We are implementing something similar to this. There is no sub licensing feature though in Acumatica. Our client has customers who will essentially have separate tenants and be able to take snapshots. Depending on the needs of the client for you, the customer portal may not work. Will they need separate charts of accounts? Will they need snapshots?

The other thing here is how many tenants are they going to want to pay for?

Thank you @kandybeatty49 for your prompt reply. We are assuming that for each of them would require a separate COA would be used. Also there are around 20-25 clients to whom they would like to provide a separate license for each.

Hi @Harshita

We have the same thing. Customer portal will not work in that case.

Any other suggestions @kandybeatty49 on how can we achieve this? Just one instance → multiple tenants (clients) → separate licenses (distribution, construction, manufacturing)

Hi @Harshita

One instance, multiple tenants. Depending on the needs, separate licenses.

Hi @Harshita

One instance, multiple tenants. Depending on the needs, separate licenses.

The need is just to record the financial transactions for all the tenants.

Why this is a concern at all? You have an instance xxx.acumatica.com for example then you gave your tenants A B C that each tenant can have its everything like users, master records, CoA, transactions, ..and each tenant features can be configured differently. What is the problem here?

the only problem you will face is customization that can not be performed individually on tenants in reality.

Thank you @aaghaei for your suggestion. And then in addition, we would require a separate license for all the clients in case if they would require to start their business processes (not only in finance) over Acumatica?

If they decide to become a client of Acumatica on their own, then sure they will need to buy a license or if they have maximum of three users they can use Acumatica for free I believe just they have to pay for the cloud (of course no support)

For current situation you can make special arrangements with Acumatica to grant you 25 tenants instead of regular 3-5

Doesn’t Acumatica provide 10 tenants at max for live instance? But as you said, maybe we could put up a request with special arrangements for our prospect. And then if those tenants would go for complete implementation of their business processes then those 25 tenants would require a separate license. Also, I would like to know how many instances can be installed using one configuration wizard or on one server with separate databases?

Thanks in advance.

One URL for Live and another for Sandox is typical arrangement. Outside of this you will need to negotiate
