hello everyone, I was trying to create a report with two different date ranges to compare the values, for example, if I chose a date range from  01-2018 to 03-2018 it would bring me the values from this range and from last year like 01-2017 and 03-2017 and I was wandering if I can add a check box when I check it (true) some filters will appear to choose the second date range

thank you

this is the standard report

I want to compare values like the report in RM00CG00

Hello @khairi,

The report RM00CG00 is built using the Analytical Report Manager (ARM), which allows you to add columns through the Column Sets (Sets de colonnes in CEGID XRP Flex). The standard report screenshot you shared seems to be another report, built using the standard Report Designer -- can you confirm which one it is?

Both reporting tools work quite differently and the process will be much simpler if you use an ARM report like RM00CG00 for this purpose.

i'm modifying a standard report to add a column in which i want to get the values from a certain date range and i want to get the values  from last year  to compare it .

Me using RM00CG00 the just to make a point

Yes, I understood that @khairi -- which standard report are you trying to modify? It will help me make a recommendation on the right approach.

GL63CG00

Are you familiar with the Report Designer and SQL Queries? Using ARM (or a tool like Velixo Reports) is much simpler for such a requirement, and makes it possible for people without intimate knowledge of databases, relationships and SQL to update the reports.

If you must use the traditional report designer, here are some tips to get you on the right track. I have access to a CEGID XRP Flex demo environment and was able to open report GL63CG00.

From the Relationships tab, you will need to add the LegalGeneralBalanceGLHistory table a second time with a different alias (ex: PrevBalanceGLHistory). Something like that:

You will also have to add new parameters to the Conditions tab (ex: PrevPeriodIdFrom, PrevPeriodIDTo) to allow the user to chose the comparative period range:

You can then setup the appropriate conditions in the Filters tab (or directly in the relationship).

this is the original date range from the standard report  GL63CG00

and this is the date range in which i want to retrieve the values to compare it with

and i did what you asked  i added LegalGeneralBalanceGLHistory table a second time with a different alias

now i’m stuck with how i going to get the values from the second date range

@khairi your parameters for PrevBGlhistory are date/time; it needs to be a financial period, like the “De la période” and “À la période” parameters above. Please compare configuration of the parameters.

Can you also show us what you put in the data field links, as well as Conditions tab to filter PrevBGlhistory on the selected periods?

Thank you Gabriel

However; I can’t seem to change the paramet

ers: if I put string instead of datetime, I don’t get the list of periods.

These are some screenshots

In the Parameters section for the view name and default value, please use the same settings as the PeriodIDFrom and PeriodIDTo parameters… this is only for formatting and defaulting of the values, won’t impact the query execution

i want to add parameter range with the field ReferenceID from gltran in GL63CG01 report from LegalGeneralLedgerGLTran and it didn't work so i tried to add the GLTRAN and it same thing so i decided to get the field from the BAccountID but i did't know to link it with gltran or account to the parameters to have an account range filter.

Is your original question/issue resolved? This looks like a different question, and I see that you have already created a separate topic for that here

hello
well you right i tried to get your answer on this one , and no i did not resolve the first problem

thank you Gabriel for your help

i just solved my original question
