Update the Revised Budgeted Amount in the project budget based on a forecast change

Hi everyone,

I have a customer who has a requirement like this.

After they setup the project, they want to create a project budget, review it and then lock it. At the same time, they want to create a project budget forecast for this same project. If there are changes to the Revised budgeted quantity and Revised budgeted amount values in the project budget forecast, can they update the same columns in the project budget ? I have tried doing this, but when I click on the “Update project budget line” command in the project budget forecast, it does not update the same values in the project budget. Is there a way to achieve this functionality ?

Please advice.

Thank you,

Ashani Dias

I had this once, and it was to do with the UOM on the budget line as the client had changed the Revenue Budget Level on the Project Properties after it had data accumulated to the project.  I deleted the budget lines, then recalculated the budget, and then it would work, so might be the same issue.

It doesnt see the lines on the budget as the budget lines has the UOM and forecast does not so it doesnt update.

Hi @Chris Hackett

Unfortunately, we were not able to find a solution to this problem from the standard application. So, we created a Generic Inquiry to update the project cost budget based on the Cost Projection. That was acceptable to the customer.
