UPDATE: March 3, 2023

Thank you to our partners and customers who signed up to try our Teams integration customization and provide feedback! As announced during the Summit 2023 Keynote session, Microsoft Teams integration will be available as part of the core product starting 2023 R1 as part of our new Experimental Features. We have made a lot of great improvements both in the integration as well as its usability. Yet we are just beginning.

We will be ending the Managed Availability Program for Teams integration for any new requests. This means that if you were a partner or customer as part of the program, you can continue using the integration as a customization that was provided. However, support, ongoing maintenance, and support for future versions will no longer be available from April 4, 2023. We will continue to monitor this community site as well as our interaction with customers and partners to collect ideas and feedback to help improve our Microsoft Teams Integration (core).

Since it was Managed Availability and the integration was available only as a customization project, we made several modifications and improvements when bringing this into the core product. As a result, a re-implementation is required to migrate from the customization to the core product.

Hello ISV’s, partners, and customers,

We are getting ready for our Microsoft Teams integration to enter Managed Availability! As a result, we are looking to identify a few customers who would be ideal candidates to help provide feedback on this integration between Microsoft Teams and Acumatica. The integration will be available as a customization.

Watch the demonstration below or on Wistia to learn about the key features and benefits of this integration.

An ideal candidate for this particular integration would be customers who have an IT team/resource or if their IT operations are outsourced who can create some access rights and permissions. Specifically, the following capabilities are required:

  • Need to be able to create a user with a Teams Administrator Role in Azure
  • Need to be able to create a Microsoft Graph API application and configure OAuth security. Click “Show Content” below for the full list of permissions for Graph API.
API / Permissions name Description
Channel.ReadBasic.All Read the names and descriptions of channels
ChannelMessage.Send Send channel messages
Chat.Create Create chats
ChatMessage.Send Send user chat messages
Files.Read.All Read all files that user can access
GroupMember.Read.All Read group memberships
offline_access Maintain access to data you have given it access to
Presence.Read.All Read presence information of all users in your organization
Sites.Read.All Read items in all site collections
Team.ReadBasic.All Read the names and descriptions of teams
User.ReadBasic.All Read all users’ basic profiles

If you are an interested customer, please comment below as well as reach out to your reseller/partner.

If you are a partner/ISV, please leave a comment below as well as follow the instructions over on the Managed Availability Overview page to create an Acumatica Presales Support Case with the appropriate information.

Looking forward to working with you all as we roll out this exciting integration!

Not sure if this is the best place to include feedback, but it would be really nice if we could use this to have Teams initiate a phone call to phone numbers listed in the phone number fields in Acumatica. Is that feasible?

Hi @RaphaelPfaff12 - the team is working on incorporating that into the core now. We are targeting 2022R2 if everything goes smoothly!

I am interested. I’ll ping our partner.

LANDFALL Solutions as a Partner is interested in working with the Teams integration to test the existing functionality.

We also have a client who is interested in using the Microsoft Teams Chat capabilities with Acumatica transactions.
Please let us know how to follow up.

We are partner/ISV and manage our Azure Active Directory

I would be interested in participating.

We are interested, I sent a request to our partner as well.

@kgarvey29 great idea! This was actually suggested by another user trying out the integration. We will look into the possibility of this since not everyone uses feature of calling phone number with Teams. I have communicated this request to the team as well as we consider enhancements to the integration.

@dougmcbride79 we are now targeting 23R1 release. This will be available as an experimental feature which would be part of the core Acumatica product. Users will have the option to opt in and use this integration if desired.

I am interested. Case ID: 286544

Hi Omar

We would like to try the software out for a prospect please. We did log a case, but been going in circles in trying to obtain it.

We would like to use this for demos and our parent company, Somerset CPAs & Advisors.  We are a VAR.

We are just setting up our 2021 R2 Sandbox. We are a Acumatica Commerce customer.  We would very much like to participate, but we do not have the background  you described.  If you still want  us, we want to participate.

We are prototyping Acumatica right now, but we’d be interested in taking a look.

Our Client seems willing to participate.

Hi everyone! We now have a demo video for you to learn about the key features and benefits of this integration. Please watch the video from the original post or here.

Thank you everyone for participating! We will be winding down the Managed Availability Program for our Microsoft Teams integration since it is available in the core with 2023 R1. We will continue to support the customization for those who participated in the program until April 4, 2023. I have updated the original post to reflect this.

@Omar Ghazi we would be interested in setting up the Teams Integration - Can contact Bangert as well.

We’d like to try it ✋🏻

We are a VAR. I submitted one earlier today.

Apologies! You’ll hear from me in the next few days as soon as it’s assigned!

We’re interested!  We have experience with Teams admin and Graph API

@gmercede yes, you should’ve directly received an email from us regarding this on Oct 6th. There was also a case opened for this by a colleague of yours and we provided the link to the 22R2 build via that case as well. Thanks!

@Omar Ghazi, we are on 22R2 and have been using teams and recently starting using leads again. we’ve found that when we create any activity type including tasks the activity is saved but doesn’t show in the lead.

if you open the activity the related entity is the lead but again when you go to the lead no activity shows. have you guys found that teams could conflicting and causing this issue?

@Eddier47

Here is the response from @Omar Ghazi

Back in March, I posted an update explaining that the Managed Availability Program was ending and support/maintenance of the packages under the program was going to be deprecated on April 4. Clients need to be on 23R1 using the embedded Microsoft Teams integration into the core Acumatica product that is supported and maintained.

However, FYI - we have not seen this issue with not being able to see the activities in the Leads screen

Hi @Omar Ghazi do you already know when the integration will be available in the core?  :-)

@MSolberg -  please create an Acumatica Presales Support Case with contact name (first and last) and email for both partner and client.
