Dear All,

Our business case is we will deliver material to the site and after finishing the installation, we will calculate the actual quantity of material to issue an invoice to the customer. The actual material quantity is less than the budget quantity.

Current process:

  1. Set up a warehouse called Pending Sale and use order type TR on Sales Orders, transfer material to Pending Sale warehouse with a specific location linked to a specific project. (Each project has 1 location in Pending Sale warehouse)
  2. after finishing the installation, use order type SO on Sales Orders with actual quantity to issue an invoice.

Issue: On Project PM301000, we can't track how many materials we already delivered to the site (TR or SO historical transaction).

Question: do we have any function on Project that allows us to create a delivery transaction and it can be shown on Project PM301000 too

Thanks in advance,

Yên Chi

@chidao Have you read about the Project-Specific Inventory?  You would not need to set up locations with the specific project and you can now track by quantity or quantity and cost by project.  You can read about this change in these release notes start on page 9.   https://acumatica-builds.s3.amazonaws.com/builds/21.2/ReleaseNotes/AcumaticaERP_2021R2_ReleaseNotes.pdf .  I think this will help your process.

Hi @Heidi Dempsey,

Thank you for your sharing. This article is really helpful. The setting tracking by qty allows us to reserve that item with qty for a specific project.

Do you know which function we can't track how many materials we already delivered to the site and allow us to view from Project PM301000?

@chidao Atached are two GI’s you can upload and they will show up on the construction page.  These will show you all Inventory items, quantity, cost and locations.  From you question above, you do not want to see the inventory on PM301000?
