sub report not printing in full where more than one page for sub report details.

When printing a Sales order (particularly large orders) we have a sub report that summarises by Item, Colour and Size. This was made up of a sub report within a sub report which was then added to the sales order form as a footer section. The issue is that for large orders, there is no page break in the summary section and the remaining information is not printed. When changed to a header section, the system is printing a line of the detail section, followed by the summary table and continues that way for the entire report. How can I get the summary information to print on multiple pages and then print the normal sales order lines. I have attached the forms and sub reports being used.

Thank you everyone for your valued input, moving the details in the report to become part of the header section rather than the footer helped in printing the details out in full. Now I do not have to stress anymore. Cheers all.

Hi @SallyAG,

The issue you're encountering is likely because you're pulling data from the details section of the sub-report. I suggest creating a new group and grouping the lines by a unique identifier, such as noteID. Then, move the details section into the footer or header of this group. This approach should help you achieve the desired output. If you still need assistance, please share the report backup so we can take a closer look.

You might want to try this workaround.

Hope this helps for you!!!

Also - try changing the setting on the sub report sections to Keep Together = False.  The default setting is True.  If you pick false, it should allow it to split over multiple pages.

You may also have to do this in the main report on the section where the subreport is as well.  I’ve fiddled with this before for other reports and can’t remember exactly which one you have to do (or if it’s both).

Thank you for the feedback people. I have already worked on the keep together page breaks etc thank you Megan that didnt work.  Some further issues, when I added the details to the report as a group header, the report is now printing 240 pages for a 2 page order as its repeating the style/colour/size table after every stock item which is not desirable. I will try what Sagar has suggested. Thank you Sagar and will report back if it worked.
