Yes, you can add new customer status as below.
- Open the Customization Project and click on the Screens (Left side menu)
- Click on the Existing screen and add the Customers screen.
- Expand the AR303000 screen left side menu and click on the Fields
- Right Side, click on the + icon and add the Customer Status field
- once the field is added, click on the COMBO BOX VALUES and add the custom status as Legal.
By using above above steps , you can add new customer status to dropdown. to make it work as an InActive status , you may need to extend workflow and add Legal customer status to the every workflow stage as assigned to the Inactive status.
