+1 on liking the hand sketch.
@hayleehicks18 Gotcha. Hmm.You could try Export as Report maybe? But I see what you mean. It’s a workaround.
@hayleehicks18 I think I understand what you want, and I think you can do it.The business event needs a subscriber, which is an email notification. In the email notification template (ScreenId=SM204003) you can attach a report. In Report Format, choose Excel. Would that work for you?
Are you doing this in migration mode? The documentation I’ve read suggests that import scenarios essentially automate what you can key within the UI, so I think you’re correct that if you can’t do it manually you will run into limitations.
@Gabriel Michaud That was it! Just like when using Report Designer- got it.And why am I not surprised that Velixo handles this so nicely?
I’ve seen this issue too, occasionally, when I export from Generic Inquiries. If you change the format in Excel, it’s fine but by default I’ve also seen that behavior. This becomes an issue with automated exports (like bank feeds). I’m not sure Acumatica can actually do anything about it though since at least in my experience it’s controlled in the Excel application.
Could you create the tables & fields in Acumatica, and create a screen, but hide the screen from view? That might accomplish your goal of getting the data into the system so that you can retrieve it. But I think if you hide it from the site map you’ll also be able to make the site less confusing for your users. If you didn’t already do this, I think you’ll want to make sure that when you create your custom tables that you allow for the proper primary key fields to match the primary key values in Acumatica so that you can link historical data to current data.
Hi @ddunn ! Right. Thanks for pointing that out. Yeah - I see what you’re saying; the options are a little limited but as long as I can make the file name unique we might be able to live with that outcome!
@Neil Cantral Ooh. That did it. Nice data manipulation. Thank you for showing your work! I’m back in business now.
@Irina Can you say more about using synchronization to create a dynamically named export file? I have the same requirements as the other folks. Looking through the documentation I see plentiful info about Salesforce sync & HubSpot sync but I’m not getting results for export scenario sync. Also I am pleased that it looks like I can only export records that the export scenario has not processed before, assuming I am understanding this selection list correctly.
Understood- thank you @Irina !
@ajmalnasir55 Yes, I’ve attempted to do that. I just double-checked my steps against the documentation you sent and confirmed the process. I’m getting the same error from Acumatica within the Email notification that the report is not found. It’s very odd as the report is visible in the UI, and I can even select it as an attached report within the Email notification screen. But once I click ‘select’ within the notification, Acumatica responds that the report is not found. Puzzling.
Note, if someone notices this post & wants an answer, Acumatica isn’t supporting this process via automation notifications. I had to re-build the event as a Business Event.
Thank you for your generous answer @Gabriel Michaud - I’ll give this a try.
Understood- thank you Irina.
Thanks Doug. We haven’t gotten any requests for that but it’s good to know. Makes sense that your tool would integrate with both platforms.I’m mainly curious why/whether people have chosen a third-party Salesforce data integration rather than the one that ships with Acumatica.
