Yes...Per my note above, some subs need additional functionality ProEst doesn’t provide. For example, it doesn’t do cut/fill quantities for earthwork.
If they truly need take-off and database-based estimating we recommend ProEst unless they are a subcontractor that needs something more specific for their needs (HVAC, Electrical, Earthwork come to mind).
I agree and this would also lend itself to the potential for creating a Buyout capability that would be a big differentiator for Acumatica...
I am a construction partner that has been in the industry for almost 40 years and am happy to be a resource to you and your current partner. Would you like to have them contact me?
Sounds like this may be for a highway/heavy or other civil construction company as many of them do unit price billing for DOT jobs. At this point, I don’t believer we handle this but will need to do so if we want to compete in this space.
Or...if we could add it to some “white space” in the Job Header...
I agree that this would be very convenient. In fact, I have noticed this myself during demos and I’ve had questions about it.This would require a controlled addition of a task, phase, cost code and perhaps start the change order process.
Agreed….this is a common tool other construction tools offer and our users don’t usually discover this until implementation.
I also have a list of KPI’s that would be excellent dashboard widgets for Owners and Senior Finance Executives. This list is compiled from multiple sources and many of our competitors use them but must produce them in Excel with all the related data issues. If we could offer them in our Dashboards it would be a huge benefit. Also, many of these are recommended by CFMA (Construction Financial Managers Association), one of our industry partners and a key player in construction finance.ProfitabilityGross Profit Margin = (Revenue – Direct Cost of Work)/Revenue Net Profit Margin = (Gross Profit – Indirect Costs)/RevenueCash Flow - A broad cash flow reading is the cash demand period. It is driven by three balance sheet accounts: accounts receivable, accounts payable, and over-billings/under-billings: Cash Demand Period = Average Days Required to Fund Operations – Average Days to Pay Creditors. This is essentially the difference between the length of time it takes to receive payment for w
Absolutely. Let me poll our consultants and we’ll compile a list!
I think sending on a scheduled basis is “doing it the way we’ve always done it.” I would prefer to see a widget that “reminds” the project manager that they need to update their forecast. In fact, a widget that included “the stuff in need to do this week” irrespective of the task would be fantastic. In addition to the project forecast reminder, it could include:Invoices/time-sheets I need to approve Expiring compliance items (e. g. what’s going to expire in the next 30 days?) Which subs are falling behind in their pay requestsOf course, this idea could also be extended by Role and not be confined to Project Management.
Unless working with an architect/engineer or developer, don’t use budget forecasting very often. Of course, in those sub verticals, it’s very important. I do show cost projections on every construction demo.Specific to cost projections, since this is often a weekly/monthly exercise, the following would be helpful:Add Columns to include: Last Projected Amount Weekly/Monthly Cost to Date BTW, it would be super to have Sales/Training videos for all functionality as it’s added. I understand this is a “big ask” but would certainly help the Partners and the customer.
