Vendor Payment Instructions

On vendor payment instructions is there a way to distinguish between a checking and savings account? The NACHA file format requires us to distinguish the difference on the ACH Text file uploaded to our bank. Currently we are manually changing this for specified vendors.

In our previous software we had a field “Bank Account Type” to distinguish the difference. Can this be added on the next release?

Dear @tsalmonson13,

The transaction code 22 - Deposit destined for a Checking account is hardcoded in the Export Scenario that ships with Acumatica, but it can be configured through the export scenarios screen:

You can either use a different value that will apply to every payment in this batch, or add a new attribute in vendor payment settings that you will let you configure this on a vendor basis. If you want to see an example of how that’s done, look for the lines in the export scenario where the source object is vendorPaymentSettings; it’s always a pair of rows, one to select the attribute by detailID, another one to put the value in the export data.

You can add a new attribute for your payment method through the Payment Methods screen, in the settings for use in AP tab:

The transaction code you need for a deposit destined for a Savings Account is 32. I’m not sure it would be very user-friendly to have people enter the transaction codes manually in vendor payment settings, so I suggest adding a checkbox and using a formula in the export scenario to choose between 22 and 32.

This was helpful.  Thank you, Lars
