I’m looking for feedback/ideas/solutions on if it is possible in Acumatica to send out a sample order from an Opportunity without having to create a customer or business account.
The goal is to not create accounts aimlessly that are not TRUE purchasing customers.

The distinction that indicates a real customer in Business Account is the customer status (Prospect).
The equivalent for contacts this is the contact type (Leads).
Out-of-box most transactional screens will require a business account and/or a contact. To remove that restriction requires heavy customization because a lot of code expects the business account/contacts to be a valid value.
We’ve set up one generic account called “Customer Sample”. We use that account and input the customer’s information to generate the sample. :-)
